Britten's flair for setting foreign poetry has sometimes been obscured by his flair for setting his own native language. Not so here as his songs in German, Italian, Latin and Russian are performed by Susan Gritton (soprano) and Mark Padmore (tenor), marvellously accompanied by pianist, Iain Burnside. Not to be missed.
